	Pacific Northwest Pole Leisure
	"Tiki" Tony Murphy's Pacific Northwest Totem Pole. Native Americans of the Pacific Northwest carved these elaborate poles. Thor Heyerdahl believed all lands touching the Pacific shared similarities in their works of art, and it's easy to imagine the Polynesians carving side-by-side with the Native Americans, sharing stories of long voyages on Tongaroa's great sea.

	This is the fisherman and creator God of Rarotonga (Cook Isles), where carvers lived under strict spiritual rules when carving Tongaroa. As a result, many versions are found with the exact same characteristics. The large belly represents a healthy chief.

	Marquesan Tee
	Countless of these large stone tikis hide in the jungles and coast line of islands like Fatu Hiva, or the Marquesas Isles. Smaller tikis carved for fishing weights on nets and hooks were taken off each night and worn to incruease their mana (power).

	Maori

	On Rapa Nui, King Toa-Ko-Ihu saw two sleeping ghosts. He was so taken with the vision, he quickly carved what he saw into wood. The starving figure of the Kava Kava Moai ripens fruit and is always seated at the front of banquets, reminding everyone of how our environment provides and supports life.
